About our web feeds
What is a web feed?
The amount of information on the web is growing at a staggering pace. It can be overwhelming to try to keep up-to-date with all the websites you are interested in. A web feed (also known as an RSS feed) is a simple way to make keeping up-to-date easier. Instead of having to visit each website, you identify the content you like and have it automatically delivered to you.

How to use web feeds
You need a program called a news reader or news aggregator, which collects feeds from various websites which you select and notifies you when there are updates.

News readers vary a bit in the exact steps to subscribe to a web feed. Try clicking the feed icon (RSS) or dragging it to the news reader program. If that doesn't work, look for a "Subscribe" or "Add" button in the news reader, and enter the feed URL.

What is a podcast?
A podcast is a special web feed which provides audio files. You can think of it as a radio program you can play whenever you want.

Despite the name, you do not need an iPod to play a podcast. Most podcasts will play on your computer or on any MP3 player.

How to use a podcast
One of the best programs for podcasts is iTunes (Mac/Windows). Some news aggregators also include podcast support.

To subscribe to a podcast using iTunes, select the "Advanced" menu and "Subscribe to Podcast...", then enter the podcast URL.
